Problem with O2 email

Hi all,

I have been unable to receive or send email from my O2 email account. The error message I receive is "Cannot Get Mail - The connection to the server "mail.o2.co.uk" failed." or smtp.o2.co.uk for sending mail. The passwords and SSL settings all appear to be correct. If I use Eudora or webmail the username and password are correct and I can successfully send and receive email.

I also have Gmail set up on my iPhone and it works seamlessly.

The funny thing is that o2 email used to work on my iPhone 2G with firmware 2.0.2, as well as my first white iPhone 3G, again on firmware 2.0.2 but this phone had a hardware fault so was replaced by the Apple Store.

Updating to 2.1 has not fixed it. I have tried deleting all email accounts and adding them back in one by one but this has not helped either.

Can anyone offer any advice?
