My ipod is not connecting to itunes.... any ideas/help?! : )

turns on if it was off but computer and itunes dont register it help

I had this problem, saw this on another post and used it successfully. Hope this answers your question.

1. charge your ipod.
2. w/o turning it on first, switch the hold button
on the top of your ipod to "hold" then back off again.
3. repeat that off/on hold deal about 10 times.
4. then reset your ipod by pressing the center select button
at the same time as the menu button.
5. the apple logo should appear.
6. then try reconnecting your ipod to see if itunes will
recognize it.

I did everything in that article i even uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and my iPod doesnt show up in my iTunes, it doesnt synch anymore and I cant even find it in my computer, the article didnt really help. Any other suggestions?

My iPod has been in the dock for many days and I wonder if the connection is screwed up by the dock. Anyone has the same problem?

I'm having the same problem...tried the 5 R's...and the work around solution above...it worked once in the last week (since upgrading to itunes 8.1)...but generally is unresponsive. I have ordered a new cable as a last resort since nothing else seems to work!!!

What a relief, I've been scouring the web for help- my pc wouldn't detect my iPod nor did iTunes. I tried all the 5-R's and all the suggestions on the support page to no avail. This however, worked!!! Thank you!!!
