Nano and windows x64

Hi,

I've just got my computer up and running after getting a replacement motherboard. During the time I didn't have my computer I purchased a Nano which I used on the family computer with no problems (running windows xp). When I plugged my Nano into my computer windows and itunes doesn't recognize it and I think its the sign for an empty battery shows up on the screen of the Nano when it is connected. I'm already running version 5.0.1 of itunes, which I was told on another forum would fix my problem, but it hasn't 😟

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just tried to connect my Nano back to the family computer (running 32 bit wondows xp) which it previously worked on. Now I just get the same as I did on my computer, the same picture on the nano screen etc. I've tried getting the ipod updater to restore the nano, but it says there isn't an ipod connected even though it is. When it is disconnected I can't even turn the thing on, I've tried resetting it holding down menu and select, to no effect. It like it's just been killed, it doesn't do anything at all now.

You'll probably need to go to Microsoft and Apple to seek support for the iPod (of any type) on Windows XP x64 Edition... and I don't think you'll have much luck.

I personally decided against XP x64 because I saw this kind of thing coming... In my opinion XP x64 is no more than a Windows ME... for M$ to make a few bucks on and offer limited support to those that will unknowingly help them develop Longhorn/Vista. There are not enough significant improvements to move me from XP 32-bit considering some of my peripherals would no longer function and the mfg's indicated they were not going to produce drivers unless there was a huge demand... there has not been.
