Next track on Iphone when screen is off

Hi guys
I wonder if there is anyway to go to the next track (or previous) without using the touchscreen when the screen is off for power save. Kind of similar of what you do with the Ipod Shuffle.

I was wonder if there is any key combination on the volume or home button without resurrecting the screen on the Iphone.

Thanks

I'm curious to know the same thing. I have a flip case that covers the face of the iPhone, so to skip forward or backwards a track I still need to open the case. I know it seems insignificant, but I feel this ability to advance tracks is pretty basic for any device that has music playing capability, especially one as advanced as an iPhone. Thanks!

There is an option to bring up a simple iPod control when the screen is off or asleep by pressing the Home button twice - volume level, skip to next track, skip to the previous track, and pause, but not without using the touch screen.

I just tested this with my iPhone locked and screen off. After the iPod control comes up, the screen goes back off automatically after 15 seconds if I do or touch nothing else. I can always press the sleep/wake button to turn the screen off immediately.

The only way to do so without using the touchscreen is with the iPhone's earbuds.
