Can't edit song info in iTunes 8

I'm having the same problem....
I upgraded, changed my user administrator stuff, etc.....I still can't edit.

Can anyone help?

Make sure you have FULL control over the entire music folder and subfolders.

Make sure your files are not read only.

I've got the same problem and i've also tried the two recommended actions below, but nothing. I'm assuming a bug fix will be needed and a new itunes 8 released?

I have this problem as well. my files are not saved on my computer, but an external hard drive, so I'm not sure that the whole administration rights would therefore matter.
I love to have the actual title and not someone else's title interpretation in my itunes. so it'd be great to have get this figured out!

Just unchecking the read-only box isn't enough. You need full control & ownership in most cases where this starts happening.

My 'gat info problem: I


Since updating to version 8:

right click to 'get info' on single file is fine.
But if I try to right click on a selection of files, I get a blank grey window, and a sort of weird truncated layout of SOME of the options normally available in those tabs down the right-hand corner of the big grey box. and they appear to be moving out of the frame of the window so some of them are only half visible. You can't get to them. Also if you move your mouse over it, I get a sort of "floating" OK button, - the only way to get out of the thing. Seems to be a serious graphical mess there. (hard to describe-I wish I could attach image file)
Anybody else out there have anything like this?

I have done this and I have FULL control but it still is not working.

I did notice that I can't change the folder to NOT read-only. I uncheck it and it checks itself again after I OK.

Any other ideas?

That doesn't sound good. I'd restart your misbehaving PC and try to give yourself FULL control again.

You're not just unchecking the read-only box, are you? That's not enough, from what I've read.

I should have also mentioned that I can edit the song info in my library but the songs that were added to my iPhone are greyed and cannot be edited. Actually I couldn't add the songs to the phone at first. But I checked and unchecked the "Manually manage music" and then it synced. But now I also cannot seem to delete the songs from my iPhone.
