Enabling Root User

Hi,

I am not sure if this is the right place for this question, pls direct me if it isn't.

I am trying to make changes to the hibernatemode setting using terminal. But I get a prompt saying 'pmset must be run as root...'.

I have enabled root user in directory services, I still get the same prompt.

Kindly advise. Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Aditya

from the pmset man page;

All changes made through pmset are saved in a persistent preferences file (per-system, not per-user) at
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.PowerManagement.plist

therefore preface the command with sudo and enter your password.

Have your system backed up before making such changes as root, in the event that your alterations cause wreckage.
