I was downloading some songs in iTunes and when I went to transfer the playlist to my Nano I got the message "Some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied to the ipod because they cannot be played on this ipod". Only some of the songs transferred over to the ipod. How do I get all the songs on the ipod? and why would some songs not be able to be played on it?

Where did the songs come from? Downloaded from the internet, iTunes store, off your CD? What format are they in?

I downloaded them from the itunes store. Unfortunately I dont know what form they are in. Wouldnt you think they would be in a form that would play on a apple device from the Apple store?
Ya something is not right there if you got them from the iTunes store and they don't sync to your iPod. Do they play in iTunes?
If you double click them and get asked to authorize your computer, that would be the issue. Once authorized, they should go onto the iPod just fine.
but if they play ok in iTunes, then I am stumped.

I will have to see if they play through the whole song in my library. I know the sampler played prior to purchasing. After I purchased and were added to my playlist I didnt try them to see if they played once purchased in my iTunes acct. I will and let you know. Unfortunately Im not at my computer with my iTunes on it. I appreciate your suggests and help. I will add to this once I find out. Thanks!
I did click on them and authorize then transferred the playlist again and they all transferred over. Thanks for your help on this!!
Ah good, so it was just an authorization issue. Easy fix.
