Toshiba K80 + Streamclip + FCE

Hello, i am French, so excuse me for my English!

I have a problem, FCE does not recognize the format of my videos in mp4. I believed to understand that it was necessary to use streamclip but, I do not know which regulations to put for the video of exit.
I would not like to lose too much quality.

Need more information about the file. MPEG-4 is not enough. Open it in the QuickTime Player and look in movie info and give full information about everything that's listed there.

From Streamclip export to QuickTime. Make the codec the Apple Intermediate Codec. I'm guess the frame rate is 25fps. Set that as the frame rate. Set the field dominance to upper and the frame size to 1280x720. In FCE make sure you using matching settings in easy setup.

It is good, FCE reads the video. But, the video weighs 454 Mo instead of 73Mo! and the export is very long...

There is another means, because videos are going to be enormous! I am sorry for all these questions, but I am a little lost...

Apple Intermediate Codec is an high resolution HD format. That's what's used in FCE.
