Problem connecting to iTunes Store

I keep getting a message that iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store - Make sure your network connection is active and try again. This happens every time I try to click on Genius

This started off immediately after I upgraded to V8.0 this morning. There is no problem with my internet connection - I am able to browse and access this site and do all the other wonderful things people do on the net - it is just iTunes that seems to have problems working with my network connection.

Any ideas good people

I have a similar one.

"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. An unknown error occurred (-2096). Make sure your network connection is still active and try again."

Anytime I'm connecting from my Macbook on my Airport Express wireless is the only time I receive this error. It works just fine when I connect it with an ethernet cable. Additionally Remote from my iphone won't connect. As a recent convert windows user I'm considering trying to re-install itunes. Any suggestions?

Creating a new location in Network Preferences worked for me too. I wish I understood why. I'd really like to just use "Automatic" for all my online connections, but I keep having to manually switch between my school and home connections.

I am wondering if this problem is only happening with Leopard. It seems like everyone whose specs are listed here is using Leopard.

What are the ramifications of creating a new network location? Does this mean I will have to take some kind of action every time I move to a new network (i.e. home vs. work)? Could adding a new location mean that I have to reset other things? Right now the iTunes store is the only thing that doesn't work for me, but I don't want to create new problems. Any advice from anyone?

It might be. I need to log in too! It's frustrating the living daylights out of me!!! There's no help for this one anywhere! It seemed to work a while ago, as I changed my details, then when I tried to purchase that error came up.

Maybe it's down at the moment for maintenance or something? Grr... doing my head in though. haha
