Ink and Hanvon Graphic Tablet 0806

I have a new Graphic Tablet from Hanvon but can't get it working. It says it's OS X compatible and Ink is now in the System Pref (which it never used to be before running the limited Mac software on the CD. But it does nothing.

I tested it on a PC and the unit is working how it should but on the Mac it's doing nothing.

I contacted them and they sent a newer driver but still nothing, am I missing something?

This is a relatively cheap unit as I'm on a budget trying to start a new business and wanted the graphic tablet to help in that. Is it a case that it just isn't mac friendly or do I need additional software?

Hi Craig, are you set up as an Admin user?

Did you Repair Permissions with Disk Utilty & reboot yet?

What kind of graphic software came with the tablet? Not the drivers, I mean graphics software???

Nothing!

It has hwinstall.dmg which is a 148k file and that's it. All the rest is Windows including HWDrawing.exe

So I'm missing stuff it does say "OS X compatible" on the box, but what else do I need?

This is my first Graphics Table and like I said it work great on a PC I just need it to work on my Mac.

HI Craig,

I wonder if I may make a suggestion.... return the Windows compatible tablet and get a Wacom instead. I've been using mine for ten years. It runs perfectly with Mac OS X, comes with a graphire pen, software (drivers) and graphics software. Available here: http://www.wacom.com/productinfo/

Even though it says Mac OS X compatible, obviously HWDrawing.exe is a Windows executable file and can't be used on a Mac.

I was looking at the Bamboo range from Wacom before seeing this one at half the price on eBay.

BTW I do have Photoshop CS but as I said it's still not working.

Could USB Overdrive X cause problems?

As this is a 3rd party commercial application, it certainly could. Product description:

Looks like it was the problem, the CP has a on/off switch, turn it off and it works, now I just have to learn how to use it LOL

See if you have the Uninstall USB Overdrive application that's located in the Utilities folder inside your Applications folder.

I have a Hanvon tablet that worked perfectly on my mac until my hard drive crashed and the new os was installed. Now nothing happens. I don't have any USB overdrive program. Is there any other reason why this may not be working with the new os?

I don't remember, the os x that would have come standard in summer '06. I never needed to install drivers. I just plugged it in and it worked.

Hi Me again.

I just got a G5 PowerMac and most things are going great but wouldn't you know it the tablet has stopped working. I now have 10.5 Leaped which might be the reason?

I ran the software again and tried turning off USB Overdrive but nothing, like before.

I just fixed it (again) I check the USB Overdrive site and they had a newer version, installed and it's working once again.
