iPod and limewire

Is it possible to transfer your limewire music into your ipod so that you dont have to pay $1 for every download?

Probably a bad question to ask in this forum, since you seem to be implying that you'd rather download "free" (as in illegally obtained?) music, rather than pay 99 cents through iTunes.

I will say one thing, though--it's great to use the iPod to transfer music that you've transferred from your own CDs. (I have tons of tracks that are from my own massive collection.) In fact, the Nano documentation gives instructions on how to transfer music from your CDs to iTunes (which then is transferred to the iPod).

Hi Michael,

are you automatically updating your iPod? Check by connecting your iPod to the computer and highlight the iPod-icon in the Source List (the column on the left) in iTunes.
Click on the iPod symbol in the lower right corner and look under music.
Click on "Manually manage songs and playlists". Click OK.
Make sure the songs you would like to transfer show up in your Library and drag and drop them onto the iPod-icon.

If this does not work, the songs might be in a format that is not compatible with your iPod. You can change the format following these steps:
Go to Preferences->Advanced->Importing and set Import Using: to "AAC encoder". Click OK.
Right click (ctrl-click on Mac) on the song you want to convert and select "Convert Selection to AAC". Take the newly converted song and drag and drop it onto the iPod.

Hope this was helpful,
Lars

well limewire wasnt free....i paid a $30 subscription to it...i think itunes created it

I'm not going to make any judgements here, but I will point out two problems with your statement. First, there is absolutely no connection between iTunes and LimeWire -- Apple (itunes) did not create it.

Also, you may have paid $30 for the program, but that money goes to the people who wrote the program. It does not pay for any of the songs. So if the songs you download through LimeWire are copyrighted, then you are stealing the music which is illegal and unfair to people who are not being paid for their work.

*sigh of relief*

Yeah, you should be relieved...

...relieved that you haven't been sued or prosecuted for stealing music yet.

What's funny to me is that you actually come out and announce on a public forum that you are illegally downloading music, and you don't appear to be the slightest bit concerned about it. How exactly do you sleep at night?
I guess ignorance really is bliss...
