Ominsphere install problems.

I'm on my fourth install of Spectrasonics Omnisphere and an having some difficulty getting a good install. After I install all six disks it prompts me to open Logic and open Omnisphere and continue with the validation process. Problem is when I launch logic Omnisphere is nowhere to be found in the I/O. Is there something that I need to do to make sure Logic knows Omnisphere is installed? I'm at wits end and am starting to think it's the install disks. BTW- I have tried installing on my main OS drive and to my second internal HD. I've also gone through and cleared all receipts and made sure nothing was left in application support or any other folder Omnisphere might be installed into.
Thanks for your help!

Rescan and reset only works on whatever is selected, so if you don't find anything to select, it does nothing.
I have one more idea: look again, be absolutely sure it is not in the Audio Units list. It is not hard to overlook, if your list is long.
If it really does not show up in the Audio Units Manager, but it is in the /components folder and it has the .component suffix, then I am your brother in baffledness. I would reinstall just the component, not the sound content. I assume that is possible - it should be.
Does it also have a standalone version?

regards, Erik.

Hey, I'm having a similar issue as well installing Omnisphere. I am beginning to think the discs are defective. When I go to install (I have installed 4 times = many hours of frustration) All the discs install alright (although every time I insert the disc and open the install window that prompts me to choose a folder to install on, it says "no additional space will be used", when on the tutorial it says "requires 7.6 GB of free space" so I am worried that the discs don't really contain the actual Omnisphere Application) As soon as the 6th disc is finished installing when it says "you can now open Omnisphere with a host" I can't find the folder anywhere. The other 3 times I installed each time I deleted all preceding information/folders containing Spectrasonics and started from scratch. Each time I tried naming different folders. The one I saved to a folder called "Spectrasonic Instruments" on the desktop was there after the installation completed, but how do I actually open Omnisphere the application???? I would like to use it with Garage Band or Logic Pro 8 but I can't open Omnisphere!!! Am I doing something wrong??? I've never owned a Spectrasonics instrument before so can anyone help?? The latest install I just installed it right to the Hard Drive with no folder name. I can't find it. (but the space is taken up on my hard drive). Thanks!!!!

Hi Rainey7!
Sorry your having trouble with the install. Here is what solved my install woes. I made sure everything Omnisphere and "steam" was completely taken off my drive. Go through your receipts folder and application support folder and delete everything Spectrasonics installed. I would use "spotlight" to find all associated folders. After you move everything to trash I ran a free application called OnyX to fix permissions etc and rebooted the computer. It is very important that nothing is left behind from the previous installs. (No matter where it is on your system get rid of it) It causes conflict and for some reason will not allow Logic or GB to see it as an AU. Once you have made sure all previous installs are off the system and you have run onyX. Sit through the install again. If you just installing the entire synth on your boot disk let Omnisphere create the folders don't use the option of naming the folders yourself. It's a time consuming process but this was the only way I got Omnisphere to install correctly. It's an awesome synth nothing like it out there at all! Let me know what your outcome is!
Thanks

Oh and also, after I'm done installing it for a 5th time, what do I do?? If I can find the Spectrasonics folder and the 2 plug ins like I was last time (even though the plug ins are just pictures of white paper with "bash-3.2$" written on it?? How do I actually open Omnisphere as an AU? If everything is a Unix file?? Or is Omnisphere supposed to appear on the desktop after it installs??? Just sort of confused about how to go about opening it with a host assuming it does work this time. Thanks any help is appreciated!!!

Yea I still can't see Omnisphere after installing it the 5th time. The Spectrasonics folder is there (under Application Support in the Macintosh HD) but there is no desktop icon that says Omnisphere. I can't find it in GB and logic Pro sees it as an AU but I can't open it, and node isn't checked off. What can I do??????? I've already e-mailed and left a personal voice message with spectrasonics, but no reply yet. Thanks for the advice though, OnyX is a good program, I just can't find Omnisphere!!!! I hate paying 500 dollars and not being able to use the product!!!!!
