Pics of Martin Fields Overlay

Quite pleased with it. It only covers the front, but that's enough for me. Comes with a circular piece for the clickwheel, which I haven't fitted yet. No adhesive involved.

You could order two, one for the front.. the other for the back. But, It wouldnt be a very good idea because the overlay has a cutout for the click wheel, and then a plastic peice for the click wheel. This leaves the center button uncovered. You could put it on the back, but there would still be a small circle left uncovered the size of the center button. And no, It doesent cover the sides.

has anyone tried a combo of this and icondom or trendy geeks pod shield(hasnt come out yet but is basically the same thing). this covers front and the icondom and pod shield cover the back, sides, and comes with screen protector. of course this is a little expensive especially when you could get a front and back coverage from www.decalgirl.com for cheaper but probably less quality.

Well it was a toss-up between the Martin Fields protector and the Crystal shield by Power Support. I found out from PS today that they are 3-4 weeks away from releasing their shield for the nano and the MF one looked so sleek and nice (and not textured) that I ordered a 2-pack just now. Since it will likely arrive well in advance of my nano, I will be putting it on right out of the box. It should work fine for using the Apple nano armband and any subsequent case I find for the nano.

I received my Crystal skin from DecalGirl today. It's just like a PDA screen protector so it'd not crystal clear. It gives the surface a rough, textured look.

My advice... go for the Martin Fields for the front and the DecalGirl crystal for the back. The DecalGirl doesn't look great but it's cut to the right size so it protects the back pretty well.

the screen protector looks very nice. But how did you clean the nano without getting scratches from fingerprints before covering the nano with the screen protector of martin fiels ?

Well I put my cover on a brand new nano so it wasn't really necesary to clean it but I'd recommend a microfibre cloth... the sort of thing you get from an opticians or a camera shop.

You might still get some very light scratches but these will keep it to a minimum.

Very nice. I plan on picking up a Nano as soon as they become available again (Sold out in this area), but I'll make sure to order this Overlay ahead of time. Looks great.

I like the look. It maintains the glossiness of the nano, part of its appeal.
But hey, I have a couple questions regarding the protector for you:
1. Did you have any problems putting it on?
2. How's it holding up against scratches?
3. What are you going to do to protect the center button (if anything)?

Wow! Finally a decent protective solution for the nano. Already ordered the twin pack. I have one question:

-does the overlay stay in place if you let's say carry your nano around in your jeans pocket?

This looks like a good way to protect a Nano.

Does the glossy overlay get ratty looking after using it for a while? I would hate to have to keep buying $10 overlays!

Would also like to know how easy these are to apply, as have ordered a pair and would like to learn from someone elses mistakes first...
The video on their webpage shows the process of application for a PDA only and there is some SERIOUSLY hard rubbing with a credit card, which i'm not sure my Nano could take.

Mine went on easily enough without any real rubbing. Just make sure you're away from dust when you do it.

All the ones I've used have goone on fine. You don't seem to get air bubbles under them... maybe the odd one but you just pull off and re-apply.

Mine's showing no signs of scratching and even he ones on my cell phones never showed scratches though and they never came off in my pocket.

I honestly think you'll be VERY pleased with the MF screen covers.

The only one of mine that ever looked bad after a while was the one for the camera lens on my Moto RAZR and that was just because it was so small so it came off easily. The bigger ones are great though.

I've had one on my cell phone for 6 months now and it looks the same as it did when I put it on and that gets constant daily use. 🙂
