Percentage free in mailbox quotas are wrong

Mostly a cosmetic issue, but kind of worrying.

The 'percentage free' column for mailbox quotas in Server Admin is completely inaccurate.
Nearly all accounts are listed as 100% or 99%, despite actually being 30% free or some such other markedly different value. One account is even listed as 101% free.

This doesn't bother me too much, because the actual values are there as well. The only issue might be whether users are getting their warning messages in time to actually do anything about it.

In one or two cases the quota has been filled to the extent where the user cannot even delete messages to free up space; an IMAP quota limit error returns when attempting to delete messages in Mail.

By the way, cyrus-quota gives accurate results.

Any ideas?

I have a similar problem, in Server Admin, under Mail > Maintenance > Accounts.

I have 5 users and, let's say "user1" and "user2" show negative values under "Quota Used (MB)". As far as I managed to search there is an issue in Quota over 2 Gigs. User 1 and 2 are over that quota. All the mail that is in user mailboxes are imported via Mail.app from another pop3 server, and Outlook Express 2003 also from a pop3 server. Now we are using 10.5.5 leopard server (Imap). Mail is working fine as far as I can see, and mailfbr shows corect values. Please if anyone has this bug post here or let me know if this is a known bug.

Same problem here... I have quota from 50 meg to 2 gig and all report incorrect in serveradmin.

This was there is 10.5.4 also.

Hi,
I had the problem of incorrect quota percent free with one user continually indicating 135% free in 10.5.4. I reconstructed the users mailbox without changin quota free error. Quota used was correct and the same as reported in SirAdmin. This persisted with 10.5.5 for about 6 days. It seems to have corrected itself as the %Free is now correct and no log entry shows the action taken.

Get yourself mailbfr which is a command line tool and is really good at sorting out these sorts of problems. It fixes quotas, does database repairs, makes backups, repairs permissions and more.

Hello.. At least in my case, this quota percentage was wrong right out of the box (fresh install) and wrong ever since.. I use mailbfr and it reports no problems..

Others seeing this??? I presume it was a bug and would be fixed but 10.5.5 it is still broken but cyrus_quota on the command line reports correctly...

This is such a HUGE bug from my point of view. I have 2 users with 3.3 GB, and set Quota to 5 GB. ServerAdmin shows quota limit of 907 and quota used is -1703. User gets quota full warnings and cannot receive any e-mail, all the mail goes to queue.

Hope apple is aware of this stupid bug and fix it ASAP. Cheers!

Edit: mailbfr is a very good tool but does not fix the bug.
