Audio filter to eliminate "tunnel" sound?

I remember shooting a documentary on the Lincoln Tunnel years ago, and all our audio sounded like it was recorded in a tunnel. We found that the solution was in fact the same as Jim's suggestion.

Of course in the end the documentary was never highly acclaimed. The director said it was because the producer had "tunnel vision."

Can you post a piece of the sound for folks to listen?

Could have been worse... all your audio could have sounded like a Lincoln in a tunnel.

Without hearing the problem it's nearly impossible to make a suggestion... as there is no "tunnel sound remover" that I know of.

But it seems as though you want to remove ambient artifacts and that's nearly impossible.

If you post a clip you may get more suggestions.

If by any chance you recorded with two mikes, or somehow routed the mike into a stereo input, you might simply have a phasing problem. If you do, just turn one of the tracks off, and it should go away.

or a hot rod lincoln...which would drive me to drinkin'
