Terminal: Output "ifconfig en1"
Hi, I was just wondering what the normal expected output of the command "ifconfig en1" in the terminal should be (in my case, when the airport is on but not connected to any network)?
Specifically, in my case, it states "media: autoselect (<unknown type>) status: inactive"
when typing "ifconfig en1" , I receive the following output:
ifconfig en1
en1: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
ether 00:22:db:04:01:bb
media: autoselect (<unknown type>) status: inactive
supported media: autoselect
Why does it report "unknown type" when, if running ifconfig en0 while en0 is active but not connected, it gives a detailed listing of the available media?
Basically, is my output for ifconfig en1 normal?
