Ipod Shuffle Green Yellow Green Yellow Light Disaster

I am getting the dreaded Green Yellow Green Yellow Light that means no music. I wiped the Ipod clean and started from scratch. It synced and autofilled fine. It shows all kinds of music on my computer and plays the songs fine. However as soon I a plug in the ear buds, I get the blinking colored lights telling me no music. I plug it into itunes and it shows the music there. I've looked at the Ipod thru my computer and it's about half filled with music which is correct. What gives? What am I doing wrong or missing? I miss the music during my workouts a lot. Can someone please help me?
