Export project with tempo map as a MIDI without a tempo map

I need to export a MIDI from Logic that does not contain a tempo map, yet preserves the absolute values of the key on/off. What I mean is that, when the song ritards at the end, it still needs to ritard, but not using a tempo map, just the basic MIDI data.

I thought that selecting "'Export MIDI file...' saves regions as format 0" would do just that, but it actually includes a tempo map in the file. Unfortunately, my recipient cannot use tempo maps.

Thanks!

Hi Stewie,

I don't know what makes you think that MIDI files contain a 'tempo map', but they do not. They only store MIDI-messages and their *relative time values*. They do need a tempo parameter to be set, or else it defaults to 120bpm. If your 'recipient' *cannot set a tempo*, I don't think he can even play it. Maybe you should just bounce it to audio. What does your 'recipient' use?

regards, Erik.
