New Update Will Not Install.

I am trying to install the latest 10.5.5 Update but when I click restart and the installation hangs at "configuring installation" what can I do? All of the other updates installed smoothly. I tried to download it directly from the Apple website and tried to install it on my desktop but it says "it can't install on this volume"

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!

what exactly do you mean by that? try downloading 10.5.5 combo (not delta) update from the apple site and installing it manually.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!

Here are some things you can try:
1. Back it up first!

2. Run disk utility from the install DVD - repair disk

3. Clean caches with leopard cache cleaner and rebuild prebindings

4. Check combo update sha1 digest (checksum) to be sure it is sane.

5. Be sure no startup software (login items) is running when beginning install.
