MAMP and Perl

MAMP and Perl

I have mainly stuck with XHTML, CSS, and AS 2/3.
I have decided to broaden my language base to CGI.
I am new to Perl script and I need some help setting up Mamp.
Anyone know where a good tutorial is to walk a beginner through the httpd.config
and file permission?

MAMP is for PHP, not Perl. mod_perl's installation instructions are here: http://perl.apache.org/docs/2.0/user/install/install.html

I want to make sure I am understanding this correctly. I will need to setup Perl for my whole system rather than for each 3rd party software that uses perl. Will 3rd party software such as MAMP and Xcode development tools use the system configuration of perl to run the .cgi or.pl script?
