went to apple store..none of them could tell me the difference....they only had british ones there. so i just got the british one.... it has £ $ and euro sign on it....its fine...im happy....
ok thanks guys.......
i just wish it was black or something......
white and silver? thats kinda a girly looking colour.
nice tho.
I know the links below are for the wireless keyboard but the pix for the wired version are even smaller. Perhaps someone else can find better pix. Anyway, here's the Int'l English wireless kbd:
thankyou.
they are exactly like my onboard macbook keyboard!!
im getting the wired because of the number pad, and just some normality, because im learning some music software, pro tools etc, and i wanna learn those common shortcuts, but my macbook is missing alot of those keys. plus i like the look of the white one.
the only difference i could spot on the pics you linked was one had a $ sign and one had a £ sign.
my macbook has both symbols. the english one has £ $ and euro symbols printed, but the international one only has $ printed......yeah but im sure they can all type those symbols.
ive noticed the wireless one has a fn key.....would the wired one too?
yeah ive just looked at the close up pics of the wired one....
i can only spot the currency symbols which are slightly differenent.
can anyone spot anything else different between international and british WIRED keyboard?
whats so international about the international one, the british one is the one with the curency symbols of 3 diff currencies on.
sorry i would have linked but i dont know if my apple id will also be linked/
I have the english wireless Keyboard and it has a £ sign on the 3 key and a $ sign on the 4 key. I don't know if there is a difference except for International English (the grammatical Language) which is different to UK English. The main difference between a standard PC keyboard and a Mac Keyboard is the @ sign resides on number 2 key on a Mac as apposed to the quote key on the PC KB
The hash sign on Intl. English may just hide the euro sign as the £ sign isn't required! We need someone with International English KB to enlighten us!
im gonna use pro tools alot with external keyboard.
pro tools shortcuts require you to turn off expose, spotlisht, et cetc.
could i use the macbook for leopard things such as above.
but then set up my external apple keyb. for pro tools shortcuts??
does the apple keyb. come with software for managing settings of the keyboard?
can macbook use one set of settings, for shortcuts, and the external one use a diff set????
or will the external keyb. and the macbook keyb. mimick each other as close as possible....with only the extra buttons on the external. really being able to do other things.....?
basically pro tools shortcuts using requires changing spotlight, expose, spaces....etc etc. ..
so i would like use macbook for these cool features.....but the external for full on pro tools usage.
I have both a US wired keyboard and a UK one sitting in front of me as I type (I prefer the US as I have used this layout for years but recently moved to the UK so my new Mac came with the British keyboard. I bought a US keyboard on a trip the the US.)
So the differences are:
1. Function Keys - Identical
2. 2nd row, Left key US is ~ and ~ where as British is +_
3. 2 key shift Euro symbol
4. 3 key shift has UK pound key not #
5. On the rhs of the QWERTY row, US has \| UK has an extended return key
6. On rhs of ASDF row, US has return, UK has \| and then a smaller return key
7. On the lhs of the ZXCV row, US has a larger shift key, UK has `~ key
8. On the rhs under the f13 to f15 keys the US Keys are labeled fn home page up
UK have arrow symbols but behave the same.
I really prefer the US as it has the extended shift keys symetrically on both sides, the UK one is only on the RHS.
Plus if you ever have to enter code, a US keyboard is necessary to get a \. I live in Switzerland so a new computer always comes with a German layout keyboard. Good to have a US one lying around.
