I noticed that i had 13 updates for my applications, lol. I never feel like updating anything. So, i click on my "Applications" tab and then hit "13 Updates Avaliable" But, not long after i hit it, it says "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error has occured (5002)." My internet is on (its broadband, it should always be on ) and i can look anywhere in the itunes store, but it wont let my update my applications. Is anybody else having the same problem? Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. Even after upgrading to iTunes 8.

'We could not complete your iTunes Store request.
    An unknown error occurred (-50).

There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."

This has been happening for a couple of weeks now. Yesterday, I used the online assistant. We checked the firewalls and she even had me check using another user. Using the other user (also non-admin), I was able to search the store and login to the store with my iTunes account. No problems. I then logged out of that user and back into my user, reopened iTunes, and the same issue prevailed.

iTunes is completely normal for me except for the iTunes store. And even stranger, I can actually login using my iTunes account, look at the 'Apple Account Information' page (my personal info), and check purchase history.

But I cannot see the store at all.

    Help.

    Thanks,
    Glenn

Reinstall itunes, restart your router, computer, and unplug all of your hardware. (Keyboards. mice, etc.)

I have the exact same problem :P. I can access the itunes store and the app store from my pc and ipod touch, but neither can access app store for updates. I also have 13 updates, and I check for updates constantly. Please help! I can't take it any longer!

I too am having problems since updating my iTunes from 8.0.1.1 to 8.0.2. I can access the store fine. But when I go to my Applications and click on get updates (it's showing in parenthesis that I have two to download) it times out giving the error: "We could not complete your request. The network connection timed out."

I also updated my iPhone to the new 2.02, and when I try to access the 'Updates' section on my iPhone it is also timing out with a network error.

To see if the problem is on my network I turned off the wifi on my phone and went to the Apps/Updates using the 3G network. Same problem.

This was working two days ago. I think this is an Apple problem. [sigh]... now to see how long it takes them to fix it

Another unhappy customer from iTunes 8.0.1 to 8.0.2 update and iPhone 2.1 to 2.2 upgrade with application updates. Sync'ing doesn't complete (very slow) and application updates just hang with the already mentioned error. To be honest application updates on iPhone 2.1 release didn't work on my phone anyway -- the only work around was to delete the old app and reinstall.

In the interim I am going to try and disable application sync.

I wish they would test this stuff prior to release!

    (Disappointed)

Add me to the list of people who can browse the store but are unable to download available updates.

I got this error too several times tonight (from Denmark)- but then suddenly every download was fine. I did not change a thing - just tried later. During my try's my providers test for download speed showed maximum speed - i.e. 6 Mbit down.

It probably won't help you, but it means it can be temporary and probably has to do with network or server load or things like network latency between my machine and Apples servers.

Either way it won't help my online purchasing on iTunes if this returns on a regular basis.

I can update my apps from my laptop and from my ipod touch now, but I have no idea why. I'd like to find out so it doesn't happen again.

Me too. But mine has a different error code (are they random???).

    Mine says:
"We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unkown error occurred (-9808). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."

I can use iTunes, go to the store, etc... But when I try to sign in, I get the above message... Rebooted, rebooted routers, etc... Cleared internet cache... I even changed firewall programs (moved from onecare to norton). Uninstalled k-9 internet parental controls. Still nothing.
I get the same error if I try to create a new account as well...

Did you ever get a fix for this? I have the same problem. Everything works right on the admin account but not the non-admin. It says I have the most current version (8.0.2).
