connecting Sony DCR-DVD 108

I have a sony DCR-DVD 108 which records on the mini DVD's. When I try to connect it to my computer, it continually says: "Connecting.... do not unplug the usb cable. Do not turn off the power" However it never connects. I had an old hi8 sony and never had a problem with it connecting.

Any suggestings?

Thanks!

Your cam does not appear on the Apple compatibility list.

Bad choice for a camcorder anyway, IF you intend to edit the video. DVD's are an end product - not intended to be edited.

You should have bought a miniDV tape cam - best quality video, easy archiving of finished movies and works with ANY version of iMovie, including the best version, iMovie HD6.

THANK YOU!!! I didn't know such a list existed!

Actually the sony belongs to the HS and they need it for competitions, where they can hand the DVD directly to the school after a competition, however the power got cut during "finalization" on one of the disks, and I brought it home to "save" the footage.

Late last night I was able to get my DVD palyer/recorder to make the transfer, so I am saved!

Personally, I have a Canon HV30......wish they had let me use that one!

I agree, I like the old imovie better too!

THANKS AGAIN!
