itunes.exe unable to locate component

Whenever I start my computer up I get a pop-up alert that says: itunes.exe unable to locate component. This application has failed to start because gdiplus.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. Every time I try to open itunes I get the same notification and after the first time it pops up if I click the OK button the pop up just re-appears and re-appears if anyone can please tell me what is going on and how to fix it I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't kniow the answer to this, but here is what I suggest.

I checked to see where iTunes is looking for gdiplus.dll and it is in:
C:\WINDOWS\WINSXS\X86 MICROSOFT.WINDOWS.GDIPLUS_6595B64144CCF1DF_1.0.2600.5581_X-WWDFBC4FC4\

AFIK the WINSXS folder is used for optional components and third party files. My folder was created on the day that I upgraded to iTunes 8 so I guess it is part of the iTunes install.

So how about trying a repair install.
Go to add/remove programs, find iTunes. Select change>>Repair.
Be sure to use an administrator account.
