How to resize a UIAlertView, initWithFrame doesn't work...help me, pls

Mac Mini C2D 1.83G, Mac OS X (10.5.5), iPod Touch 8G 2.1

Hi,

i'm not sure if you can resize an alertView. Maybe you can set the frame property after creating the alertView.

Why do you want to resize it?

because BOSS said "just do it, I want resize....."
when I init over, I tried the fellows:

CGRect myRect = CGRectMake()
alert.bounds = myRect;

OR:

CGRect myRect = CGRectMake();
alert.frame = myRect;

then, I

[ alert show ]

but it doesn't work...

lol, ok that's a reason why. 🙂

Something what i figured out is, that the AlertView frame-size depends on the delegate you specify. I sometimes set a wrong delegeate and got an AlertView as small as the delegate (it was a UIView-sublass instead of the Viewcontroller, i've set)

Hi, i'm not sure if you can. But what if you set the frame-property after showing the Alert? Maybe it's autoresized within the show-method.

You can resize an UIAlertView. This is how I do it without subclassing UIAlertView.


- (void)willPresentAlertView:(UIAlertView *)alertView {
 alertView.frame = CGRectMake( x, y, width, height );
}
