New iPod Nano is freezing after every startup.

I purchased a new 4th generation (nano-chromatic) iPod Nano. I opted for the 16 GB model. I upgraded to the new iTunes8, and proceeded to download some new tunes, and a movie from the iTunes store. The new unit worked like a champ at first, but soonafter it began to freeze, rendering every feature useless. About all I can do is power-off the Nano, and restart. Problem is, after "every" restart, the unit locks up. Is there a fix for this? Thanks

PowerMac G5, Mac OS X (10.5.5), iTunes8, iPod Nano (4th generation)

We haven't experienced that with ours. The only thing I can suggest is to make sure that you got the firmware update. I'm not sure if the 16 GB ships with it already or not. Connect it to your computer and then click the "Check for Update" button on the screen in iTunes that shows your iPod (click your iPod in the side bar if you aren't at that screen.)

Im having the exact same problems! Just opened new apple ipod 4th gen 8GB blue. Worked for around 30 minutes although it seemed slightly un responsive. Now it completely locks up, the only way I can get it to turn on is by resetting it but after this happens I can not use any of the buttons or the scroll wheel. Tried updating firmware, restoring it and resetting ipod. Nothings working. And its not on hold either 😉

Come on apple?
