Does the Nano come with a charger?

It comes with the usb cable that allows you to charge your nano when connected to the computer. but it doesn't come with one that plugs into the wall.

I suggest you consider a 30gb ipod, one that is new but discontinued??

You can get a refurb 4 gig mini for $159, perfect if u are tight on cash... plus, IMO, refurbs are fine. my mac is a refurb.

click there, and there will be a link to certified refurbished...
scroll down, and there is the ipods...

Jason - cool user name - but as you know by now, no recharger. I'm trying to find out if the firewall recharge option can be done while the computor's sleeping, or if, like the USB recharge the computor has to be active/awake.

The recharging thing is a pain if you have to keep the pooter on all night - my G4 PowerBook gets darn hot and a bit glitchy if I do that a lot.

You purchase a third party mains charger for your nano, such as the mains chargers you can get at mobilefun:

They sell two brands, an iPower and Logic 3 mains chargers, at £8.95 and £13.95. But you can get them cheaper off eBay...

FW cannot be used for song transfer... last time i checked... but maybe still the charging...

You can charge using FireWire, but not transfer songs.
