I am new to Mac and am having some trouble selecting multiple items in a row. What I have read states to use: click - shift - click which would select all items in a row between the two files. And to select multiple file items individually use: click - command - click etc.
However when I use shift, it functions the same as using the command option; selecting multiple individual files rather than files in a row.
Other users seem to have the opposite problem. 🙂
you have correct instructions. to select multiple items in a row you select the first item, hold down shift and drag the mouse button to select however many items you need. to select several items not in a row you hold down command and click on the items you want with the mouse.
Is the window in Icon view by any chance? If so click the in free space near the first file's icon, hold the click, and then drag until all items you want are selected. You can add to those by holding the Shift key while you start a new drag over additional icons. Or just put the window into List or Column view....
