Purchasing music with AppleTV

I have recently purchased an album from iTunes via Apple TV - I cannot see or access the purchased music in iTunes on my Mac - I can only see (and listen) to the recent purchase on Apple TV?
should I be able to view all purchased music on iTunes? If so how do I do that?
If not - can I have my money back for the album purchase?
