😉 hi. how or where can I find a connector which allows me to plug my cinema HD display to an ibook G4?.. i went to the mac store and they say, they don't have it... in radio shack they don't know either...
they say it will be difficult to find 'cuz one is HD and the other is DV ... =(
My husband brought home (from the U.S., to Turkey) a 22 inch HD monitor for us to use to watch movies (better than my little iBook 10" screen). He also brought a separate cable called a "DVI-D Digital Video Cable" (for "connecting a PC or laptop to an HD monitor"). Plus, he bought a Mac "Mini-DVI to DVI adapter" so that the big cable above could be converted to fit into the iBook.
Unfortunately, the Mac adapter must be for a more recent Mac laptop, because the head doesn't fit into the computer.
I don't know what kind of adapter I can get to convert one Mac Mini-DVI head to my older Mac Mini-DVI head. I am not even sure if I am using the right language for all this!
Do you know the name of what I need to order? And also, do you know if that adapter will fit on the end of my cable that my husband bought (I mentioned it in my first post)?
Big thanks for any more help you can give this total luddite who wants to watch movies.
I am also trying to do this, so far no luck, i've tried two different DVI to VGA adaptor with Apple mini-VGA to VGA. Produced same results, Apple Cinema HD Display 23" being in sleep mode, tried turn it off and on, still in sleep mode. But iBook G4 can see the Apple Display in the Display Preferences.
