Screensaver downloads not showing up in system preferences screensaver menu

Hi

I have downloaded a screensaver from the Apple website. I can see the file in the downloads folder & when I opened it up it opened in system preferences. However, it is not showing up on the list of available screensavers & I don't know how to get the file there. Please help.

Many thanks,

Ali

That's funny because I just tried that same one today and it installed properly. I downloaded the file, double-clicked on the gz to open the archive. Double-clicked the dmg and got a new window with five icons. Double-clicking the Hyperspace.saver installed it for me.

If that didn't work, follow the instrux in the package:

How to install

Just double-click on the Hyperspace.saver file and System Preferences should automatically open and offer to install the screen saver for you. But if that doesn't happen:

1. In the Finder, open the "Library" folder inside your user folder (if you want to install the screen saver just for your user account) or the "Library" folder at the top of the boot volume (if you want to install the screen saver for all users on the computer).
2. Locate the "Screen Savers" folder. If it doesn't exist, then make it and title it "Screen Savers".
3. Copy Hyperspace.saver into the "Screen Savers" folder.
