that is 30GB, and it is designed to work with FireWire, not USB.
If you have never used this iPod before, it can obviously be because it is broken.
Can you give more details? For example, what appears on the iPod's screen when you connect it? Does it charge when connected? Does it show up in a My Computer window as a hard drive?
Hi ive got a 30GB IPod Video and im running on Windows. Iv downloaded itunes 8 and when I plug my ipod into the comp I get the beautiful blue screen of death.
Ive uninstalled ITunes a few times but the same thing keeps happening,
it has the color screen with the usb cord my friend used it a few times till she got the zune. it charges when i plug it in and it does not show up in my harddrive.
Then connect it to the computer. If you get it to show up in iTunes, I would select the iPod in the sidebar (under DEVICES) and click on the
Restore button. That will erase the iPod and initialize its software.
Hi i just got an 80 Gig from a friend and at first it said it couldn't be recognized and there was an error. It gave me a four digit number and when i checked for help, i was told to restore the ipod to the factory settings. After that was done, the ipod is recognized by My Computer as a drive but nothing shows up on iTunes. The iPod says its connected so i was wondering if there were any suggestions.
