MacBook Pro Blank Screen (Built - in & External) - continued

Great, now I am scared to get a MBP. My logic board just died in my G5 after the Apple Care expired 1 week before. I just bought a new G5, wanted to upgrade anyway but still. Id hate to get a MBP now and have the same problems. Whats up with all these logic board issues, sheesh.
Just wondering - how many new threads will have to be opened before Apple finally acknowledges this as a known issue? I'm on my third logic board replacement since Aug 7th and rapidly losing patience.
I brought mine into the Apple Store last night. I had not left it for service last time as I had not cleared it of some confidential client data. This time, I encountered a much more knowledgeable Genius who seemed to have heard of the Nvidia problem.
So, my MBPro is on its way to the depot. It will apparently be $310 total, flat fee, supposedly ready within a week.
I do expect Apple will do the right thing eventually and extend warranties for the defective Nvidia subsystem. However, I can't wait until they do. I need my Macbook Pro to be functional.
Again, my strong advice...
*At the first hint you are getting this problem, turn on screen sharing.*
If you have this specific Nvidia problem, you will still be able to access the machine remotely, which can be incredibly valuable in terms of saving data before you send it for repair. When you hand it over, you will initial a statement saying you have backed up your data and Apple is not responsible if the machine is wiped during repairs. Set up screen sharing so you can operate the machine during the Nvidia failure.
I didn't see anybody doing a cold reboot, that is pulling the battery, letting it sit for about 5 minutes, then rebooting. Disconnect all peripherals before booting. This has worked the couple of times that I had the blank screen issue in conjunction with my external display.
Since the first time I used an Apple computer with the X OS I instantly converted to what I funnily liked to call the "Mac Religion", and found myself in a crusade to preach the truth about computers and convince all and every bopy that Apple computers are the one and only option. I converted my wife, my mother, my father, a couple of uncles...
My MBP (video) went into darkness 3 weeks ago, one year and two moths since purchase. All symptoms of Logic Board failure.
My computer is my one and only work tool. I´m a freelance Assistant Director and editor so i can´t have a desktop computer, I must have a Laptop. Here in Mexico, the authorized Apple service center tells me it´s U.S. $1000 plus reparation services and 5-6 weeks to get my computer back. Statistics say it´ll take more time to get it fixed than to get it wasted again.
Any suggestions?
I don´t think Apple hates us as some people say, all I think is that it´s just cheaper for them to loose some clients instead of stepping up and comfronting the consecuences of a manufacturing defect.
Shame...
I finally decided to not repair the MacBook Pro if Apple doesn't hel me to not pay so mutch money for a faulty logic board.
Probably i'll buy a new MacBook when they will come out new. And only if i can recover my MacBook Pro ram (brand new corsair 4 gb) and HDD (almost new WD Scorpio 320GB). In any other case i'll buy a mutch less expensive pc (at least i'll be able to use itunes).
Cannot think Apple leave completely alone "her" pro customers in this case.
I'm in similar situation. And i perfectly agree with you. And i convert many people to mac, also because i'll give them a little support thei needed to switch. Now is difficult for me to think i did the right thing.
But i think is VERY stupid if Apple AT LEAST doesn't communicate something about this absurd problem.
