My Nano is on the fritz!

Help somebody. My iPod nano has gone haywire!! All I get is a blinking Apple logo. I tried restoring it and everything, but it just won't work. Now I'm getting an iPod diagnostic screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Graham,

this is new to me but I would try a reset (hold menu & center button) and see if it comes back but from your description, this may do nothing,

Go to the following link (if you haven't already) and see if there is somethin you haven't tried.

If your close to an Apple store, I would bring it in, otherwise arange a repair with the repair depot (but don't be surprised if it takes two weeks to repair to replace due to backorders (unless you have a 2GB 😉

good luck

Thanks. I was actually on the phone with tech support when I wrote the orignal post, and that's what they told me to do. Thanks anyway though. Actually, some how I fixed it (I have no idea how). After a while it started working. After that, I restored the software, and now it works fine (as of 2 hours ago). Do you still think I should send it in, or do you think it's fine?

You have a one year warranty on the nano. If your nano is behaving itself, use it and hopefully if it is going to have a problem it won't do so for ~ a month while Apple gets their domestic inventory up.
If it should fail you at that time, coordinate a service call through that previous site and Apple will send you a return shipper box, and hopefully turn your nano around in ~1 week as opposed to the current 2-3 weeks!

I assume you registered your nano with Apple (Apple needs to have a record of the nano in their system to coordinate service)
If you haven't registered, go to

https://register.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/GlobaliReg.woa

enjoy!
