How do I enter a 1/3 symbol?

I know that this strictly speaking isn't 'printing' but I could not figure out where the heck to ask this.

How to I enter a "1/3" symbol? Specifically I want to do this in Word 2008, but no amount of Googling or entering phrases into the help system has helped my in any way.

PLEASE, can some kind soul tell me how to do this?

If you open the System Preferences and select the International control panel, you'll see an Input Menu tab. Select that. The first three options there are Character Palettes and a Keyboard Viewer click the check marks to turn them on. At the bottom of the dialog box click on the Show Input menu. You'll now see your flag in the menu bar and if you select it you'll see options for showing the two palettes you just activated. The character palette will give you access to all those special characters like fractions and the Keyboard viewer will show you the keyboard shortcuts to many (but not all) of them.
