I have no sound? how do i get it to play without the midi from garage band. I have got sum of the pads to play w/ 1 or 2 of the drum kits. Thanks

i didn't state the problem well -sorry. I can not get any sound from drums. I would like to play them with out using the selection (drum kits) from garage band. Also, how do i get ALL the pads to play when i do use the drum kits from garage band. I spoke to mac help, they said its a driver. I waiting to hear from Simmons
GarageBand doesn't send Midi data out, so you can only use the internal instruments and not trigger externals ones with GB tracks. There is a software called MidiO which you can use to send one track of midi out, that might work with your set.
If some of GB's drums sounds play when you hit your drum kit and others don't, it's definitely not a driver problem but a drum mapping problem - each drum is sending out a certain midi note, and the drum pads are mapped to different notes in GB (that's a known problem, GB is only partly "standard" in that respect). Do you have the possibility to re-map the drums in your set? If not - someone mentioned here that there is a software that you can use to re-route the midi notes.

I have a Yamaha DTExpress 3. when I connect from the kit to Mac using USB to Midi interface (midisport UNO) my kit sounds just like I want it to BUT the kick drum pad is sounding like a snare drum roll and the snare drum does not record.
Any ideas out there?

Hey there ... I'm having issues while connecting this electronic drumset to my Macbook ... I connect it via USB but the computer won't recognize the Drums (Yes , drumset's actually turned ON lol) ... what I would like to do is like to record in Garageband using my Simmons SD7K drumset ... Any advice or like software I need to download ?

I looked at the manual, it says you need no driver for OS X. So when you open GB's prefs, does it say "1 midi device detected"? Or zero?
