iTunes authorization

iTunes keeps asking me to authorize my computer for each purchased song. I authorize a song and it tells me the computer is already authorized. The next time I want to play the song, it asks me to authorize it again, and the problem repeats. This happens for all purchased songs.

For those that have issues with iTunes Authorization re-prompting you for authorizations even after authorizing the machine for the song(s) and/or videos that you've purchased and you've already attempted to follow previous recommendations e.g. moving the /Users/Shared/SC Info folder to trash which I have done to no avail; the following simple resolution was my answer which I received from Apple Tech Support:

Since I don't store passwords as part of my Safari preferences, that means you don't have iTunes acct info stored in the Keychains database. In this case, the information is retained as part of the preferences file for iTunes (com.apple.iTunes.plist) inside your preferences folder.

1) make sure you are out of iTunes
2) using Finder locate your preferences folder plist entry for iTunes
3) move it out to your desktop.
4) get back into iTunes
5) it will ask you your preferences again (I recommend not searching for songs since you've done this already since you don't want duplicates in your library), choose the remainder of the preferences.

Once done, your iTunes library will be as you had it before but now your authorizations will be recognized properly.

This scenario worked for me; still not sure why it was corrupted in the first place.

Hi there, I am having a similar issue. I was trying to play a TV show I purchased. When I go to play it, it tells me the machine is not authorized to play and prompts me to enter my password, which I do. It then says "This machine is already authorized to play iTunes". Yet it still will not play the show. I tried the directions on the post above and could not locate the plist.
Basically it's asking to authorize then telling me it already is, then nothing.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks!
