increasing safari crashes

For some time now Safari has been crashing whenever I try to open any Google map. Lately it's been crashing with more sites, most recently an airline home page as soon as it's loaded the very last item.
What should I do to remedy this problem?

G4, Mac OS X (10.3.x), Safari 1.3.2

Hi, taueva. Use a different web browser, such as Camino 1.6.4 or Firefox 2.0.0.17. They both run in Panther and are fully updated, unlike the last Panther-compatible version of Safari, which is now three and a half years old and hasn't been updated in all that time. Safari 1.3.2 can't handle the current versions of Google Maps or many other web sites, and is less secure than the other browsers mentioned above. Camino looks and feels quite similar to Safari.

Thank you for the background info and the suggestions. I have just downloaded both browsers and have tested out Firefox on a bunch of the troublesome sites. Every one now works. No black screens or crash notices.
Now to decide which browser I prefer...
