Help me Uninstall Cooliris for Mac

Hi,
I have installed cooliris for my safari and after watching how my safari frizzes for a few times I have decided that it's most likely caused by cooliris and I wanted to uninstall it. I also did a google search and found that others had the same problem with cooliris.
Here is what I did:

I removed the .plist file from the (internet plug) ins folder from which is located in the (Library) under my profile.
I deleted the trash files.
The Cooliris icon is still in safari browser and it still works, which means it's not been removed.
My user is a full access system admin.
I did spotlight search for cooliris and I find no traces of it on my computer.
I did google "uninstall cooliris from Mac OSX" found an article that talks about this sort of problems and it says that I need to "Trash the Cooliris Previews folder found in $LIBRARY/InputManagers/" Well I don't have inputManagers in the Library folder.
The article also says that I need to remove the .plist, which I did and it's no longer in "internet plugins.

With all this said, I still have the plugin in the safari and it still works and crashes my safari/computers every few hours.

Can any of you help me to get rid of this thing? And yes, I've learned my lesson not to install JUNK from the internet.

Thank you in advance for all of your support.

BTW I have Safari Version 3.1.2 (5525.20.1)The latest update.

PowerMac G5, Mac OS X (10.5.5), 5.5Gb RAM, 660GB HDx2

Hello,

Try AppZapper: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/28764

"The article also says that I need to remove the .plist, which I did and it's no longer in "internet plugins." FYI: the Safari .plist file isn't in the Internet Plug ins folder, it's in your users folder, here is the path: Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Look in the Preferences folder for your .plist files. In this case, AppZapper should delete the file for you but make certain after you run it. If the icon is in your Dock, just drag it off and it will go "poof".

I tried Cooliris a few days ago, and also found Safari hung while viewing youtube videos. At that time, they had an item in the view menu (top bar) to remove it, which I did.

Now I see they say on their site that it is called Cooliris Previews, and says it is incompatible with safari 3. But if you download and install anyway, and then click on their Cooliris previews Beta.app, you get a little panel with a "remove" button. Try that. Remember to restart Safari.

Thanks so much, the script worked and now Safari works again. Strangely, Cooliris works on the machines at work (Intel iMacs) but pretty much rendered my PowerMac G5 2.7 unuseable if I started up Safari, freezing both Safari and the Finder to such a degree I couldn't even "Force Quit", having to quit the entire machine instead.

Would recommend not to install Cooliris

Apparently you didn't read that carefully, as it says no such thing.

CoolIris is indeed fully compatible with Safari 3.x; CoolPreviews is a completely different application and is not currently compatible with Safari 3.x.

I think Cooliris is not compatible with Safari 3 on INTEL MACS. After installing it, my computer was blocked by Safari if I wanted to see an image. This happened about every third time I got access to an image. By saying blocked I mean that the computer is still working but it takes about 5 seconds to reach the next step. If you want to end Safari, it takes about 3 minutes to open the window, another 5 to click on Safari and indefinite time to delete it. I preferred to restart the computer.

Starting Safari on my machine does not last long. After installing Cooliris, Safari was sometimes never launched. In other occasions, it took about 30 seconds to start because it was looking for another address.

Cooliris works perfectly with Firefox on the same machine. It is an excellent plug-in and a great help for selecting images.
