iPhone: button with delete/backspace symbol

1) In any program that has an Edit menu, go to Edit -> Special Characters.
2) Make sure the "by Category" tab is selected.
3) Look under Symbols for lots of useful stuff.
4) Find the one you want, hover your mouse over it
5) Tooltip shows Unicode and UTF8 representation.
6) Use it in your code like this:

unichar delSymbolChar = 0x232B;
NSString *delSymbolString = @"⌫";

For your reference, the Delete symbol is under "Technical Symbols" with
Unicode: 232B
UTF8: E2 8C AB

Is the symbol copyright/trademarked or Patent any way? It looks familiar I am sure I have seen it before. If someone is placing it on something else that could be Patent is illegal
