Alesis SR16/Midi etc

Hi - just getting started - Could anyone please help us out here - Need to know how to get my SR 16 into logic but not just audio, I want it so it is in time with Logic time, er... if you know what I mean? I've got an m-audio 49e keystation with midi out - could it go through that? I've also got an m audio i-control with midi in...Think I've got an old midisport 1x1 somewhere aswell - would that be what I need? Also, what would I need to do to sync them together, timeline wise?

Any help appreciated!

(He says, as his Mrs tells him to go on that elusive Logic course....)

Right. I've been-a-having a mess about and I've taken midi out from the sr16 into midi in of the iControl, Then, midi out from the keyboard into midi in of the sr16. I've selected a midi track in logic, and I have a flashing light indicatin it' s getting a signal.

So, how do I get to assign a sound to these beats?

OK. Seem to be answering all my own questions here.
I've now got the drum machine playing and controlling a software instrument, in this case, Logics stereo drum kit.

How do I

A : See the midi information on the screen
B : Set it up so that the clocks run together

I've set the sr16 to midi channel omni ,drum in off, drum out on, clock in on, clockout on, midi through off...

Any ideas guys?

(Probably find out myself in three years time!)
