mypostoffice email recieves but will not send

Hi all,

Does anyone with the new iPhone 3g have thier broadband with The Post Office? I have sync'd my phone with itunes, as you do. It copied over the settings for my email, which works perfectly fine on my PC, on my iPhone I can recieve my emails without a glitch but I am unable to reply to emails as I keep getting the error message ' Cannot send Mail' 'The connection to the outgoing server "smtp.mypostoffice.co.uk" failed.'

I've checked the settings and everything seems as it should.

Anyone have any ideas or overcome this problem ???

Cheers.

Many ISP's don't allow sending of email if not on their network. When you are using the Cell you are attempting to hit their mail servers via your cell carrier and many don't allow it because allowing it also means they open their mail servers as relays for spammers.

I know here in the US AT&T has it's cpmx.att.net mail server you can opt to use instead of your outbound mail server.
