Frankly, I'd suspect the new software install and new problem to be a coincidence. It would be like installation of Firefox killing Apache, or iChat killing Bonjour. Suspicions aside, we need more info. What error do you get? Is there any other non-errored failure behaviour? Is it appearing in the scanner? Is it's status correctly shown before trying screen control? Are there any errors displayed vnc-server-side? Can you see your other remote computers in ARD? Have you tried removing it from the All Computers list and re-adding it? Is the OS and ARD up-to-date with updates on both sides? Can you enable and control the vnc server with an alternate client like CotVNC from the ARD Admin Mac? etc etc...
Let us know. Joel
