Rich,

Here's what Wikipedia says about the word "Nano":

Nano is a prefix (symbol n) in the SI system of units denoting a factor of 10-9. It is often used in prefixing time and length units encountered in electronics and computer systems, like 30 nanoseconds (symbol ns) and 100 nanometers (nm).
It was confirmed in 1960 and comes from Greek meaning dwarf.

"Milli" wouldn't work...nor "micro" because they'd be behind then and they can't have that ⚠...nor "pico" or beyond because nobody'd recognize it. So I guess their only choice was to name it after a competing product if they were going to use metric prefixes. (lol) What about iPod mini...name recognition and that's essential what this is, the miniature version of the full-scale iPod, like it's predecessor. Though I bet if they read this they'd laugh...it hardly matters...it's probably just what they had on their mind, no further thought necessary.
