Wont Eject, contains files in use

I can not eject my ipod because it keeps saying " The iPod "Sue " cannot be ejected because it contains files that are in use by another application." Yet i am not using any other application. I have tried everything yet it keeps saying that. Please Help!

ugh, mine has the same problem!!!!! first it started flashing orange, yellow, orange, yellow after I tried to synch it to my new computer, then I tried to reset it and now it just keeps flasing orange and says that it cannot be ejected because it contains files that are in use by another application. I am about two seconds from chucking it at the wall, can someone please help?

Not much... you may lose use of that USB port until a reboot. What system is your
computer running, and which version of iTunes are you using? What changes have
you made to your system lately?

I've been having the same problem. I had the logic board replaced in my iMac and then had to redo a lot of things (get Time Machine recognized, my iPhoto library on an external drive) and so I figured this was part of that problem.

I have "Disk Usage" NOT enabled. It still won't let me eject the iPod. Plus the screen stays on as long as it's connected. Used to be that it would go dark after a while.

This happens on both of my iPods (nano new gen, iPod Classic 160 GB).
