CAC/Smartcard Reader - Omnikey

I thought I knew what I was doing...obviously I didn't. Thought I needed to install driver for Omnikey smartcard reader to access CAC enabled MS OWA since Safari and Firefox didn't seem to be able to recognize that my certificate was in Keychain. Driver I installed was ifdokccidmacintel-2.6.3.pkg.tar. Before I loaded driver I could see my certificates in Keychain...now I cannot. I assume I need to undo the "damage" I caused. Seeking recommendations. I'm a Mac neophyte...just started using a Mac.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

Discovered on company's website that uninstall instructions will be provided upon request. I've requested instructions.

Omnikey provided these instructions to remove the driver; it worked and I can now see the certificates on my smart card. I'm still having problems accessing CAC enabled web sites, such as MS Outlook Web Access, but Apple Genius recommending I reload OS X.

To uninstall the drivers please unplug the reader device first and then you only need to remove the

ifdokccid macintel-2.6.3.bundle

folder from

/usr/libexec/SmartCardServices/drivers/

After deleting the drivers folder please reboot your computer and plug in the reader device again, then the free CCID driver, shipped with your operating system should be used.

I have been having this same problem. I tried your suggestion to no avail. I have an OmniKey CardMan 1021 trying to read my CAC Card to access my USMC Webmail. I have an iMac running 10.5.5 and also an iBook G4 running 10.3.9. I cannot get this smartcard reader to work on either computer. I would really prefer to use it on the iBook as I use that for work primarily. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
