iPod nano stuck in Chinese

I did exactly the same thing when I got my iPod Mini last year! Basically, you need to get back to the main menu and change the setting, which is difficult to do when you don't read Chinese!

Basically, click MENU until you are back on the main menu. (You will know you are there because the Menu will stop changing when you click it because you've reached the top.)

Here's where it get tricky..Scroll all the way to the bottom, and then back up so the third item from the bottom is highlighted. Click that item.

If everything worked right, you should see English somewhere on that list.

Unfortunately, I have, played around with the setting options on my Nano, so I may not have the order of the menu items in the same place as the default menu, so if that doesn't work, you will probably need to call the Apple Help Desk, and they'll be able to walk you through this same process. (You won't be the first person who has done this...I wasn't!)

read the manual, not trying to sound like a ****** bag, but i did that once and read the manual and it gave the solution, but i dont remember that now. and i dont have a manual but if i did id be happy to search for you

1. Switch ON.
2. Press MENU several times until the screen doesn't move.
3. Click the light bar to the 4th column (Settings).
4. Press select to enter the Language setting.
5. Press select again to the Language selection.
6. You know where to go from here.

If none of these suggestions have worked, then I would call Apple Support. They were the ones who walked me easily through the process to fix my Mini when I did the same thing...

You could restore your iPod, that should work.

It depends on what you have in your main menu. Don, if you can remember what you have in your menu, I could help you change it back to English without a restore.

It's amazing the number of people that accidently set it to Chinese. I think that would be really hard to do since Chinese are the LAST two languages on the list.

To reset the language setting in iPod nano:

* Press the menu button several times until you get back to the top level menu which will be labeled "iPod" in every language.
* Scroll down to the fourth item on the list and press select.
* Scroll to the last item on this list and choose "reset all settings"
* Select "Reset"
* Carefully select the correct language.
