I have my own domain and I am using iWeb to built a web site. I would like to have it password protected. Can you tell me the procedure to implement such protection when not using MobileMe?

Thanks in advance

Open your site in iWeb and click on the Inspector and then click on the MMe symbol and it will show password. Just click on this where is says make site private and enter a username and password.

No. Think that is in the list of services not available if you publish outside MMe. The list will come up when you publish to a folder.

Unfortunately password protection is one of the features lost when publishing to a non-Mac server.

If you don’t publish your site to MobileMe, these features are unavailable:

    ◼ Password protection

    ◼ Blog and photo comments

    ◼ Blog search

    ◼ Hit counter

    ◼ Enhanced slideshows

I vaguely remember a post about using Php or something else. You'll have to do a search for "passowrd protection" or a variation of that here in the iWeb 08 forum to find the topics which discuss that.
