email alert software?

email alert software?

Hi all, anyone know of an email alert application that puts an indicator in the top apple bar?

I need some way to know that there are emails ready to download but I don't want stuff floating around on the desktop, so ideally would have a blinking icon or something at the top in the apple bar

any ideas?

Do a search for "mail alert" at VersionTracker or MacUpdate. There are several utilities that add such features to Mail.

thanks kappy for the info, I have checked these and google etc and there really doesn't seem to be anything that does what I describe,
there were a couple of apps a while ago that are no longer available, and couple that use a widget but none that I can see that put an alert on the top bar
