Arranging windows side by side

In the Windows OS I can open 2 windows then right click on the desktop and select view side by side. One window will fill the right side of the screen and the other window will fill the left side of the screen.

How do I do this with OS X?

Thanks for any help, I'm a new convert.

AFAIK, you can't, but I've been wrong before.
